Engineering

Natel has in-house engineers to design components, subsystems and systems to customer requirements. This expertise spans the broad fields of RF / Microwave circuits and subsystems,  power systems and analog / digital circuits. Starting with the product specifications, our engineers will do an internal design of your product and simulate and analyze the performance using design software tools. Working interactively with the customer, Natel optimizes the design and after a preliminary design review initiates prototype fabrication, verifying price, availability of components, the process steps required and tools required.

Our Solutions

Usually a breadboard prototype is first constructed to verify electrical characteristics. Parallel, thermal, stress and radiation analyses are conducted, as required.

Once the breadboard design confirms performance, the schematic is finalized through a Final Design Review with the customer, and the next steps of preparing a layout, films, mask as required, etc. are undertaken. These lead to the fabrication of the PC board, the ceramic substrate or the microwave component on a substrate. For analog/digital/control circuits, the boards are then populated using the appropriate technology following a well-developed traveler. The customer is fully involved in approving all the processes on the traveler and for new designs or processes a complete characterization and analysis study is conducted and the report discussed with the customer to finalize the assembly process.

Normally, Natel will also develop the ATP for the module/sub-assembly system as required, unless the customer has already done this. This ATP is provided to and approved by the customer and appropriate equipment and test fixtures required are assembled by Natel.
